About

Hello! I am Santos Felipe Ramos, an Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at Grand Valley State University, where I direct the Latin American and Latino/a Studies program.

My research is focused on the history and ongoing presence of Mexican cultures in the upper Midwest, Chicano/Latino Studies pedagogies, and Indigenous foodways. Culturally my roots are Mexican (Michoacán and Nuevo León) and Irish (County Cork). I also serve as Co-Director of Masa Center, an organization dedicated to making radical decolonial education accessible to communities beyond higher education.

Teach Cultura is the name I use for my digital presence and the title of my current book project. My store here is focused on providing resources for teachers and learners interested in Mexican, Xicano, Latino, and Latin American history and culture.

I also make a lot of music--lately, progressive rock and cumbia.

Thanks for coming through and reading!

Above all, however, I love being a parent.
