Almost Lotería - game for teaching Mexican history & culture (game only) COMING SOON
THE GAME - 54 Original illustrations depicting different aspects of Mexican and Mexican-American history and culture. Almost Lotería can be played in the classic bingo style of lotería, but elements of trivia and team-building challenges can also be incorporated for deeper, more interactive learning.
Cards include political topics such as the Mexican Revolution, the Zapatistas, the Chicano Movement, as well as arts-based cards including Chicano Park, Los Tigres del Norte, and Rage Against the Machine. Multiple Indigenous languages are also interwoven into the game through concepts like Iwígara (Rarámuri) and Tata Juriata (P'uhrépecha). At its core, this game constellates Xicano diapora by exploring the relationship between figures, concepts, and practices from ancient Mesoamerica to modern Xicano art and activism.
To get the most out of the game, consider purchasing the teacher resources digital expansion pack and/or the party pack, which includes teacher resources as well as 25 small prizes for participants. It's cheaper to buy the party pack than to purchase each of these separately.
